Numerical modelling for mining and pavement engineering

Mincad Systems provides consulting and software for mining rock mechanics, geo-engineering and pavement design. We apply computational methods to problems that need a clear picture of stress, deformation and ground behaviour.

About us

Consulting and software since 1987

We supply numerical modelling software and services for mining and pavement engineering. Consulting work is centred on numerical stress analysis for mining rock mechanics.

Mincad Systems was formed in 1987 as one of Australia's first specialist computational mechanics groups for the mining and geo-engineering industries.

The aim is straightforward: use computational methods carefully, and match the analysis to the problem rather than the other way around.

We developed the CIRCLY, HIPAVE and APSDS pavement design packages. Further information is on the Pavement Science website.

Consulting

Mining and civil engineering

Assignments cover civil engineering, hard-rock mining and coal mining, from underground stability and subsidence through to three-dimensional numerical studies.

Coal mining

Longwall face support, chain pillars, panel layouts, roadway stability, aquifer interaction and subsidence prediction.

Coal mining services

Hard-rock mining

Extraction schemes, shaft stability, crown and buttress pillars, back-fill and instrumentation data.

Hard-rock mining services

Civil engineering

Numerical analysis for underground chambers, tunnels, foundations and civil structures.

Civil engineering services

Software

Pavement design programs

Mincad developed these packages for pavement design and analysis.

CIRCLY

Layered elastic analysis used in pavement design in line with the Austroads Pavement Design Guide.
