Services

Mincad Systems is a leading “specialist” computational mechanics group servicing the numerical modelling needs of the Australian mining and geo-engineering industry. The founders, Leigh Wardle and Ken McNabb, have a combined 40 years experience. One of our principal objectives is to promote intelligent, efficient and effective use of state-of-the-art computational techniques in mining and geo-engineering.

In recent years we have carried out a wide range of numerical modelling assignments for Australian and international civil, hard and soft rock mining companies.

Most of these projects have involved state-of-the-art Three Dimensional Numerical Modelling.

Coal Mining

Major assignments for local coal companies include assessment of longwall face support requirements, chain pillar design, optimising panel layout, roadway stability determination, aquifer interaction and connectivity studies and surface and sub-surface subsidence prediction for single and multi-seam mining sites.

Hard Rock Mining

Alternative extraction schemes, shaft stability assessment, crown and buttress pillar design, back-fill analysis and instrumentation back analysis are a few of the assignments conducted for a range of hard rock mines.

Civil Engineering

Civil engineering work has concentrated on the development of road pavement and foundation design software which is being used world-wide. Other assignments include the design and analysis of civil engineering structures ranging from large underground chambers and tunnels through to driven pile wharf stability assessment.
